🚙 How Much Will One Kit Cover?

This kit is designed to provide enough material to complete a typical passenger vehicle or pickup truck.

We didn't simply bundle random product quantities together—the components in this kit are sized around a complete vehicle application.

Here's what you have to work with:

• 1 Quart of Rusts Gone® for treating existing rust
• 1 Gallon of Thixo-Coat® + Zinc Booster for the zinc-enhanced protective base coat
• 4 Ready-to-Spray 32 oz Thixo-Coat® Bottles — another full gallon — for the final protective topcoat
• Salts Gone® with Hose End Sprayer for thoroughly washing and preparing the vehicle before coating

For a typical passenger vehicle or pickup truck, one complete kit should provide the material needed to complete the full Prep → Convert → Protect → Seal process.

Exact coverage will vary depending on vehicle size, surface condition, application thickness, overspray, and how much of the vehicle you choose to coat. Extra-large trucks, heavily rusted vehicles, or projects where additional components and surface areas are being coated may require additional material.

🔧 How the System Works

PREP — Remove Salt & Surface Contamination

Long-lasting corrosion protection starts with proper preparation.

Use Salts Gone® to help remove salt deposits, road brine, and other corrosive contamination from the surface before beginning the rust-treatment and coating process.

Removing these contaminants first helps prevent them from becoming trapped beneath the finished coating system.

1️⃣ STEP 1 — Convert Existing Rust With Rusts Gone®

After the surface has been properly cleaned and prepared, apply Rusts Gone® to areas of existing surface rust.

Rusts Gone chemically reacts with the rust, transforming it into a more stable, paintable surface and creating the foundation needed for the protective coating layers that follow.

Treat the rust first. Then build your protection.

2️⃣ STEP 2 — Apply Zinc-Enhanced Thixo-Coat®

The second step creates the zinc-enhanced protective base coat.

Add the included Zinc Booster Packet directly to the 1-gallon container of Thixo-Coat.

Thoroughly mix until the zinc is completely dispersed and the coating has a consistent appearance throughout.

Once thoroughly mixed:

1. Transfer the amount of zinc-enhanced Thixo-Coat needed into the included empty 32 oz Ready-to-Spray bottle.

2. Attach the RTS bottle to the applicator spray gun.

3. Spray the zinc-enhanced Thixo-Coat onto the properly prepared surface.

The Zinc Booster introduces sacrificial zinc protection to the first coat. The zinc helps protect the underlying steel through galvanic action, providing an additional level of corrosion resistance if the coating is later scratched or damaged.

3️⃣ STEP 3 — Finish With Ready-to-Spray Thixo-Coat®

Once the zinc-enhanced base coat is ready for recoating, finish the system with zinc-free Thixo-Coat.

Your kit includes 4 Ready-to-Spray 32 oz Thixo-Coat bottles for the protective finish coat.

Simply attach an RTS bottle directly to the applicator spray gun and apply the topcoat as needed.

No additional zinc mixing is required for the final coat.

The finished Thixo-Coat layer helps seal the substrate from moisture, salt, oxygen, chemicals, abrasion, and other corrosive elements while leaving behind a durable black semi-gloss finish.

⚠️ Important Zinc Mixing Instructions

The Zinc Booster must be thoroughly mixed into the 1-gallon Thixo-Coat container BEFORE transferring the coating into the empty 32 oz Ready-to-Spray bottle.

DO NOT MIX THE ZINC BOOSTER DIRECTLY IN THE 32 OZ BOTTLE.

The 32 oz RTS bottle is used only to transfer and spray the coating after the Zinc Booster has been completely incorporated into the gallon of Thixo-Coat.

The 4 included Ready-to-Spray Thixo-Coat bottles are used zinc-free for the final protective topcoat.
