How to use with Rusts gone

• Follow the directions for the Rusts Gone application and allow to dry.
• Brush or roll Thixo-Trop onto the desired surface to paint.
  • a wet film thickness of 6-10 mil should be applied.
• If a second coat is desired, allow a minimum of 1 hour between applications, longer if you are in a damp or cold area.

 

How to use for direct to metal applications

• Remove all oil and contaminents from surface.
• Wire wheel off all loose and flaking rust to a clean and bare metal finish.
• Brush or roll Thixo-Trop on desired area.
  • a wet film thickness of 6-10 mil should be applied.
• If a second coat is desired, allow a minimum of 1 hour between applications, longer if you are in a damp or cold area.

 

How to use with optional zinc powder addition

1-3 packets of zinc can be added based on your application and desired level of extra protection. For maximum protection, do not use over an existing primer or paint. Apply directly to metal. For topcoat, use Thixo-Trop without zinc powder.

• Slowly add between 1-3 packets of zinc to your 1 gallon container. If separating contents from the 1 gallon packaging, add zinc accordingly. This needs to be mixed in with a mechanical paint stirrer/mixer.
• The zinc will turn the Thixo-Trop gray in color. This should be a consistent color throughout to signify the zinc is fully mixed.
• Follow directions for direct to metal applications as listed above.
